Each guide is a self-contained task. The setup guides are written for whoever owns the page that hosts the board; the planning guides are written for the people who use it every day. If you have not seen a Scheduler board yet, start with Getting Started — it installs the extension and gets a first board on screen. If you want to understand why the board behaves as it does before configuring it, read Concepts first.

Set Up a Board

Add the Scheduler Widget

Place the widget on a page and fill in the parameters that matter: the work item query, Data Mapping, Plans Type, the Unplanned sidebar, Card Height and Tooltip Fields.

Configure Swimlanes

Choose whether rows are project users or the options of an enumeration field, and handle the field errors an unsuitable Field ID produces.

Plan Work on the Board

Schedule and Reschedule Tasks

Drop items from the Unplanned sidebar onto a row, drag bars to move them, change a task’s length, and unplan a task without deleting it.

Create Tasks on the Timeline

Enable creation on the board, pick the work item type it produces, and create a real Polarion work item straight from an empty timeline cell.

Link Task Dependencies

Configure a Dependency Role, connect two tasks with the Add Link handle, and read the arrows that Show Dependencies draws.

Filter the Unplanned Sidebar

Narrow the backlog with saved queries, per-swimlane filters, the resolved toggle and free-text search — and read the item count that tells you how much is hidden.

Navigate the Timeline

Zoom the day columns, jump back to today, collapse and expand rows, and switch the resource-load visualization on and off.

Advanced Configuration

Shape the timeline window with Days Back and Days Forward, adjust individual cards with the Item Script, and hook the whole board’s configuration with the Config Script.
Setting a board up for the first time? Work through Add the Scheduler Widget, then Configure Swimlanes — between them they decide what appears on the board and which rows it appears in. Once the board shows the right items, hand your team Schedule and Reschedule Tasks; it covers everything they need for daily planning. Add Link Task Dependencies only when you have decided which Polarion link role represents sequencing in your project.
