Files you add through the gallery become ordinary Polarion attachments on the work item. Nothing is stored anywhere else, and the usual attachment permissions apply — if you cannot add attachments to a work item, you cannot add files to its gallery.

Prerequisites

  • The gallery is configured on the work item’s form — see Adding the Gallery
  • The work item has been saved at least once
  • You have permission to modify the work item’s attachments

Add Files

1

Open the gallery

Open the work item and find the gallery section on its form.
2

Choose the files

Select the + button in the gallery toolbar and pick one or more files. You can select several files at once, and they all upload together. When the gallery is empty it shows a drop area with a Browse files button.
3

Confirm they arrived

Each uploaded file appears as a tile with a green check mark. Images show a thumbnail; other file types show an icon for their type.
Uploading a file whose name already exists replaces it, without asking. There is no confirmation and no warning. The existing attachment keeps its place in the list and its content is replaced with the new file. This is the way to update a file in place — but it means an accidental re-upload overwrites the previous version silently. The earlier content is not lost: Polarion keeps it as a previous revision of the attachment, reachable through Show revisions in the work item’s Attachments section.

The Attachments Section Does Not Refresh on Its Own

Polarion’s own Attachments section is rendered when the form loads, and it does not update when you upload through the gallery. Immediately after an upload the gallery shows the new files while the Attachments list above still shows the previous set. Nothing has gone wrong, and the files are genuinely attached. Reload the work item form and both lists agree.
