Deleting a file in the gallery removes the attachment from the work item. It is the same operation as deleting the attachment in Polarion’s own Attachments section.

Prerequisites

  • You have permission to modify the work item’s attachments

Delete a File

1

Find the file

Locate its tile in the gallery, in either grid or list view.
2

Select the delete control

Each tile carries a delete control alongside its download control.
3

Confirm

The browser asks you to confirm before anything is removed, naming the file it is about to delete. The name in that prompt is the attachment’s internal identifier, which carries a numeric prefix — a file you uploaded as notes.txt is named in the prompt as 5-notes.txt. That prefix is assigned by Polarion; it does not mean a different file.
The file disappears from the gallery as soon as you confirm. Polarion’s own Attachments section still lists it until you reload the work item — see Gallery and Attachments.
Deleting is not the way to replace a file.To put a newer version in place of an existing file, upload the new file under the same name — it replaces the content and keeps the earlier version in the attachment’s revision history. Deleting first loses that continuity. See Uploading Files.

Uploading Files

Add files, and replace one in place.
