Taxonomy Structure

The hazard taxonomy uses four cascade levels (Hazard_L1 through Hazard_L4), where selecting a value at one level filters the available options at the next level. diagram

Level 1: Top-Level Hazard Categories

Currently, the energy category is fully defined with sub-levels. Other IEC 60601 categories (biological, chemical, operational) can be added to the cascade configuration.

Level 2: Hazard Sub-Types (Energy)

Hazards Catalog

The solution ships with a Hazards Catalog (modules/Catalogs/HazardsCatalog/) containing 68 pre-defined hazard entries organized by the IEC 60601 taxonomy. Hazard entries are structured with heading-based categories (h3/h4) and are linked from risk records via the hasHazard link role.
The Hazards Catalog is intentionally excluded from risksheet editing (nextedySheetConfig: - No Sheet -). Hazards are managed in the standard Polarion document view and referenced by HARA risk records.

Known Configuration Notes

Two L3-to-L4 mappings exist with inconsistent casing (Hazard_l4 vs Hazard_L4). Both map the same values. This duplication should be consolidated in future configuration updates.
