Access the Home Dashboard

  1. Click Home in the sidebar navigation (pinned as first favorite)
  2. Alternatively, click the project logo in the top navigation bar
  3. The dashboard loads automatically when you first open the project
The Home Dashboard is your central hub for all project activities. Set it as your browser homepage for quick access: https://polarion.demo.nextedy.com/polarion/#/project/TestAuto2/wiki/Documentation/Home

Understand the Dashboard Layout

The Home Dashboard follows a four-section structure: diagram The statistics bar displays live counts of key work item types:
MetricWhat It ShowsUpdates When
📄 Customer RequirementsTotal count of custReq work itemsNew customer requirements created
System RequirementsTotal count of sysReq work itemsSystem requirements derived
Design RequirementsTotal count of desReq work itemsDesign specifications added
⚙️ FunctionsTotal count of function work itemsFunctions allocated to elements
CharacteristicsTotal count of characteristic work itemsSC/CC characteristics defined
Failure ModesTotal count of failureMode work itemsFMEA analysis performed
Risk ControlsTotal count of riskControl work itemsMitigation measures assigned
Test CasesTotal count of testCase work itemsVerification tests created
Click on a statistic card to view the list of work items, but you cannot edit counts directly. Counts update automatically when work items are created, deleted, or filtered in/out by project queries.

Explore Document Inventories

Each space section shows a table of documents organized by system element:
  1. Locate the Requirements Space, Design Space, Risks Space, or Testing Space heading
  2. Review the document inventory table with columns:
    • System Element / Document: Hierarchical tree showing element → document relationships
    • Type: Document type (e.g., System FMEA, Component DFMEA, Control Plan)
    • Status: Workflow state (Draft, In Progress, In Review, Approved)
    • Work Items: Count of work items in the document
    • Tool: Risksheet or PowerSheet implementation
  3. Click a document name to open it in edit mode
  4. Click the → arrow next to a system element name to expand/collapse its child documents
Use arrow keys to navigate the document tree: → to expand, to collapse, / to move between rows.

Use Space Dashboards

Space dashboard cards provide quick access to specialized views:
  1. Locate the Space Dashboards section (below document inventories)
  2. Click one of four space cards:
    • Requirements — Customer, System, Design requirements with traceability coverage
    • Design — Functions, Characteristics, Design documents with verification links
    • Risks — HAZID, FMEA documents, Failure Modes, Risk Controls analysis
    • Testing — Test Cases, Verification/Validation coverage metrics
  3. Each space dashboard shows:
    • Statistics bar for that space’s work item types
    • Document inventory filtered to that space
    • Traceability coverage bars specific to the V-model level
    • Related reports (e.g., FMEA Reports in Risks space)

Access Role Dashboards

Role dashboards filter project data by engineering discipline:
  1. Scroll to the Role Dashboards section
  2. Click the card matching your role:
    • Safety Engineer — HARA, Safety Goals, ASIL allocation, FMEA coverage
    • Design Engineer — Design Requirements, Functions, Characteristics, DFMEA
    • V&V Engineer — Test Cases, Verification coverage, Validation evidence
    • Configuration Manager — Document status, Workflow approvals, Baseline control
    • Program Manager — Standards compliance, Safety Readiness Scorecard, schedule KPIs
  3. Role dashboards show:
    • Work items assigned to that role or relevant to their workflow
    • Pending tasks (documents awaiting review/approval)
    • Coverage gaps requiring action (e.g., unverified requirements)
Add your primary role dashboard to sidebar favorites for one-click access. Right-click the dashboard page → Add to Favorites → drag to top of sidebar.
The Reports section provides links to analysis and compliance dashboards:
  1. Scroll to the Reports section at the bottom of the Home Dashboard
  2. Click a report card to open the full report:
    • Requirements Traceability Report — ISO 26262 Part 8 Clause 6 bidirectional trace analysis
    • FMEA Reports — Design FMEA (260 failure modes) and Process FMEA (16 PFMs) summaries
    • Safety Readiness Scorecard — Per-standard compliance matrix (ISO 26262, AIAG-VDA, IATF)
    • System Structure Navigator — Hierarchical view of system elements with linked documents
    • Data Model Diagram — RTM domain model visualization showing entities and relationships
    • Control Plans Report — Manufacturing control plan coverage with process steps
  3. Reports are read-only but provide drill-down links to source work items

Verify Dashboard Loaded Correctly

You should now see:
  • Live statistics bar showing non-zero counts for Customer Requirements, System Requirements, and Failure Modes
  • Four space sections (Requirements, Design, Risks, Testing) each with a document inventory table
  • Five role dashboard cards in the Role Dashboards section
  • Six report cards in the Reports section at the bottom
  • Consistent Nextedy Solutions branding (purple theme, Fluent Design styling)
If all statistics show zero, verify you have read permissions for the TestAuto2 project. Contact your Configuration Manager to check role assignments in .polarion/polarion-project.xml.
