# Enumeration Properties

> Configuration properties of the custom field enumerations Nextedy GANTT adds to Polarion: what the Nextedy Resource enumeration offers and stores, and switching off the cross-project work item enumeration.

Nextedy GANTT adds enumerations that a Polarion custom field of type **Enum** can draw its options from. The properties below configure two of them. Set them in **Administration > Configuration Properties** of the project whose custom fields use the enumeration.

## Nextedy Resource Enumeration

The **Nextedy Resource** enumeration offers resource work items as options, each labelled by its title. It takes no query on the field itself — every field using it offers the pool these properties define. Setting it up is covered in [Offer Resources in a Custom Field](/gantt/guides/resources/offer-resources-in-a-custom-field.md).

| `nextedy.gantt.resourceEnum.query` | `String` | `type:resource` | The complete Lucene query selecting the work items the enumeration offers. Used exactly as written: what a resource is and which project holds the resources are both said here. With no project clause, matching work items from every project are offered. A blank value falls back to the default. |
| `nextedy.gantt.resourceEnum.idField` | `String` | `id` | String field of the resource work item whose value is stored on the work item as the selected option, so the stored identifier can differ from the work item ID. Every resource needs a value in it, unique among the resources the query returns. |

Options are sorted by project ID, then by title. The list is never truncated — see [Large Resource Pools](/gantt/guides/resources/offer-resources-in-a-custom-field.md#large-resource-pools).

> **`idField` Is Read in Two Projects**
>
> The value stored for a resource is taken from the `idField` of the project holding that resource; a stored value is looked up again through the `idField` of the project carrying the field. Where the resources live in another project, set the property to the same value in both. Values stored before `idField` changes keep the old identifier and no longer resolve.

## Cross-Project Work Item Enumeration

The **Nextedy - Cross-Project Work Item** enumeration offers work items from every project, narrowed by the query entered on the field that uses it. With no query on the field, every work item in the repository except headings is offered.

| `nextedy.gantt.crossProjectWorkItemEnum.enabled` | `Boolean` | `true` | Set to `false` to switch the enumeration off: fields using it then offer no items beyond a value the work item already carries, and the repository-wide listing query no longer runs. Unset, or `true` in any letter case, keeps it on; any other value switches it off. |

Switching the enumeration off does not clear values already set: a work item that carries one keeps it, and its field still shows it.

## Configuration Example

Resources held in their own project and identified by a resource code, with the cross-project work item enumeration switched off:
